Golden Globes 2012

I am no fashion blogger, nor do I claim to be a movie critic. But I do claim to be a southern fella with a lot of opinions. So you are gonna get 'em. ;) I will start with the winners for some of the Awards, followed up by my fashion reviews. Only giving you my likes today, keeping it positive. Who wants to look at the ugly dresses anyways? ;)

Best Actor, George Clooney for The Descendants. Sounds like a great storyline and does Mr. Clooney ever let us down?

Best Actress, Meryl Streep for The Iron Lady. I have not seen this one either but what clips I have seen and the fact Meryl also never lest us down, I say YAY. But I would have loved to see Viola Davis from The Help win. She was just great in the film.

The Artist pulled out Best Picture Comedy or Musical, and I guess I will watch it but had honestly not heard of it until the awards nominations were released.

But Octavia Spencer did get the win for her Supporting Role as Minnie in The Help! A much deserved win for an incredible actress.

Ok, on to fashion! I will give you my Best of The Night and it surprises even me!!!! She is winning not only for a smoking hot dress, but the fact that at 75 she put many of the younger actress' to shame. It is none other than the Stunning Jane Fonda. Just check out this Jack Guisso couture gown, Chopard jewels, Salvatore Ferragamo shoes and a Swarovski bag. She showed what beauty, style and yes sexiness looks like at any age.

My close second for Best of The Night goes to Angelina Jolie. For so long she has let us down on the red carpet, but last night she brought a hint of old Hollywood glamour, without losing her edge. In an Atelier Versace gown, with that pop of red at the neckline and those bright lips, she says SEXY.

Evan Rachel Wood in Gucci rounds out my top 3. The dress was the perfect color, perfect silhouette and I loved her hair. Feathers are often done, but done badly. Here was not the case and the dress is just stunning.

Ok, so I could not leave off a #4, though she ALWAYS does the mermaid silhouette, it suits her well. Sofia Vergara in Vera Wang makes the top of the list. The blue is perfect on her skin tone and she stood out in the crowd (how could you miss this bombshell.

I am going to include honorable mentions for some other looks that hit their mark, even if not quite my favorites.
-Dame Helen Mirren in Badgley Mischka, was stunning. Her Hair, gown, make up and sense of humor were all spot on.
-Lea Michele in Marchesa, was daring, sexy and beautiful. A lot of people disagree on this, but I say go Girl.
-Sarah Michelle Gellar in Monique Lhuillier was stunning. I missed her on the carpet and at first glance thought, I hated this dress. But after review and watching it on stage. I am impressed. Bold choice for her and it paid off.
-Shailene Woodley in Marchesa grew up. She looks absolutely beautiful.
-Diane Lane in Reem Acra brought Old Glamour as well. The color would not work if she was still sporting blonde locks, but here it is great.
-Amber Riley in Badgley Mischka does not disappoint in this gown. She loves red and for good reason. The fit is better than usual for her and she pulled it off well.
-Emma Stone in Lanvin, really pulled off something few could. The color is different and it has that great belt. I say, YES!
-Jessica Alba in Gucci was stunning, but really stick her in a sack and well she is gonna kill it. Brad did good styling this one.
